2018 Orygun Run

Oh, where do we begin? The 3rd Annual Orygun Run was not the charmed dreams of many… #BreakdownRun2018, as it became lovingly known, was a true test of rider + bike. With some of the longest distances we have ever attempted, the nearly 5-day event kicked off in Maupin with a pre-party. That same day, our Ride 1K In A Day Challengers were heading out from various points in the region, to meet us the next day for the first official night. Day 1 pushed our riders to the eastern-most part of the state, to beautiful Joseph, and welcomed the group to a red-barn campsite with some of the best skies anywhere. Day 2 was hot, with lots of necessary swim stops, and took us through the High Desert to John Day. By the end of the day, the demanding roads, heat, and a number of unlucky situations, had nearly a dozen bikes + riders strewn out across eastern Oregon in various states of breakdown… but the ride would continue. Day 3, with every rider/bike finally accounted for, we pushed on to Maupin, taking a break in the national forests along the way for some much-needed rest. For those that made it the whole way, Night 3 was a celebration of survival - and of course, a testament to new friends and new family forged on the road. Thank you all for making it happen! #NeverForget
